Well I'm back from the expedition. It was good and it was bad. Good because it was exhilerating...bad because, skiing in -65 deg is not great fun. Don't feel about writing it right now. Read the book if i come up with one or scrap me on orkut if u want some info. Just look up blackstinger..

Flagged Off

Well the flagging off is over. Now the only thing left to do is go to the North Pole. It has been proposed that I will become the first doctor in the world to ski to both the poles. I don't know.....surely somebody else has done that. If anybody knows please give me the details as your comments to this post else it might become embarassing at a later date.
Am counting the days till when my wife joins me here. 04 to go....Yeah!! Miss u all.

Borrrrrrrrred.....zzzzzz............zzz......

Well we are now in the phase where there is a sort of lull before intense activity starts. Flag off ceremony is scheduled for the 10th of March in Delhi. Any collegemates most welcome. Just contact me and I will send u the invites. Some personal issues might escalate ove rthe next 10 days forcing me to drop out. Lets see...... Whatever happens, I'll be happy. Theres no locale in the world more exotic than right besides my wife and no sight more beautiful than my daughter.
Presently I am engaged in trying to solve the issue related to the freezing of moisture from our breath on our snow glasses rendering us virtually blind. Any solutions would be most welcome.

Training in Delhi

Well here I am, hard at work in Delhi. We are all training hard. Schedule is packed with Yoga and weight training etc. The North Pole is going to be much harder than the South Pole because of the unevenness (is there such a word?) of the terrain. The hardest bit though is time away from the family. I miss my lovely wife and my daughter. Talking to them on the phone is a lousy substitute. Hope to put up some pictures soon. Watch this space.

Got To Go

Never thought I would be going to the North Pole........but as it turns out I have no choice. Having been the Doctor for the South Pole team I got no choice but to go. As they put it there is nobody else "qualified" enough to go. Yeah right!! Like I had any experience when they drafted me for going to the South Pole. Then again, why should I complain. I am getting to do what many would kill for. The best thing is it is all free i.e. if you consider time away from your family not payment enough.
The team has already undergone some training at Gulmarg. I was the last one to be called and so have got the least training ...... but we still have a little under a month at our hands.

Checking the Sat Phone

Will try to do a better job at this blog than the South Pole one. Wish me luck!!!
